Hercules discovers his immortal heritage and Zeus tells him to return to Mount Olympus by proving himself to be a hero. And now, the latest movie to get the live-action treatment will be Hercules, which originally hit theaters in 1997. Between The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King (among others), this has clearly been a major objective for the powers that be at Disney. For the last half decade, it’s been hard to go anywhere without seeing a poster or advertisement for a live-action remake of a beloved animated Disney movie.
